Stuck in Syracuse

Stuck in Syracuse

I woke up this morning wearing yesterday’s clothes and very unwilling to get up off the couch. I got to bed around 3:30am, after a long night of drinks and music with everyone and their mothers at Max and Jordan’s place. I ended up staying the night after the party had ended. My first flight was supposed to take off from Syracuse today at 1:38pm, so my alarm was set for 5:30am to catch the 6 o’clock bus out of town.
I fell asleep the moment I plopped down on the bus, and didn’t wake up until about twenty minutes before we got to the airport. Imagine my delight when I opened my phone to a text informing me that my flight had been canceled.

I met with the United representative to see about what their solution was. They had already rebooked me for 5:45am tomorrow. After working and reworking my itinerary, we managed to get me on a 6:40pm flight.

It would have been nice to have slept in a bit and catch the later bus out of town, but these things happen. It also would have been nice to have given a more formal goodbye to everyone, but I kind of like that my last impression of everyone is from that party.

It was quite the weekend. I did not see everyone, but I’m glad I came anyway. It’s good to check in on a place you love and find that it’s doing just fine.

T-minus 7 hours until boarding.
